Indian Ocean Rim ADR 2024

Welcome to the Indian Ocean Rim ADR Event 2024, a pioneering initiative jointly organised by the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). Supported by the IORA Special Fund, the event is a pivotal milestone in the ‘Creation of a network of ADR Centers and a Centre of Excellence for Dispute Resolution in the IORA Region’ Project.

Supported by the IORA Special Fund, the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) launched the ‘Creation of a network of ADR Centers and a Centre of Excellence for Dispute Resolution in the IORA Region’ Project. This strategic venture targets the promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) tools—arbitration and mediation— for heightened trade and investment in the IORA Region. A collaborative platform is envisioned, a nexus for IORA Member States to exchange best practices, pool resources, and undertake joint projects, propelling the cause of ADR across the region.

At the forefront of this initiative is the Mediation and Arbitration Center (Mauritius) Ltd (MARC), established in 1996 as an initiative of the MCCI. The MARC is an autonomous, non-governmental dispute resolution center, well-established in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region.
