The Mediation and Arbitration Centre (Mauritius) Ltd (“MARC”) is pleased to announce the launch of its “Professional International Mediator Training Certification Course” which will be jointly organised with the Academy of International Dispute Resolution & Professional Negotiation (“AIDRN”) and the International Dispute Resolution and Risk Management Institute (“IDRRMI”). The course will take place from the 15th of May 2023 to the 19th of May 2023.

The Course fee is MUR 130, 000 and will be MQA Approved and HRDC Refundable.

Mediation is a proven tool to help people move past their tensions and achieve a mutually agreed binding settlement. This course will combine the art and science of mediation through highly interactive, skill-based courses in negotiation and mediation. This course is tailored to suit all levels of professional, from senior executives, business leaders, HR and in-house counsel, to law practitioners. Whether you are looking to start a new and exciting career in alternative dispute resolution, or simply wishing to develop your existing skill set, our professional course will equip you with all the necessary skills needed to practice as a successful Civil/Commercial Mediator.

The 50-hour, 5-day Course will be conducted in English and will equip participants with consolidated knowledge on dispute prevention, dispute resolution and enforcement. Meanwhile, participants will also learn the conflict resolution process and the application of mediation skills in fostering effective communication among the parties in dispute with a view to resolving conflicts in a systematic and effective manner. The course will also consist of multiple role-play sessions for participants to gain hands-on experience. The mediation role-play sessions will be coached by experienced mediators and renowned international mediation trainers.

Successful completion of the programme will allow you to apply to be added to MARC’s Internal Database of Mediators and will also enable you to apply to the Stage II Qualifying examination for International Accredited Professional Mediators (IAPM) administered by IDRRMI. The IAPM certification is recognised in Hong Kong, China, Asia Pacific and worldwide.
