Speaker - V9

Today Wednesday 24 January 2024, the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and the Mediation and Arbitration Center (Mauritius) Ltd (MARC) marked a significant milestone by hosting a highly successful webinar on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

This virtual event received positive feedback and active participation from distinguished members of the COMESA Business Council (CBC) and the SADC Business Council.

The webinar, strategically designed to explore the tangible advantages of ADR methods, featured Me. Alexis Merle, Registrar of MARC, who moderated the session, Mrs. Neeti Sachdeva, Secretary General and Registrar at the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration, Mrs. Jaya Doomun-Dookun, Senior Manager, Financial Services, Economic Development Board and Mrs. Dovinassy Pillay-Naiken, Lead Analyst, Ministry of Financial Services and Good Governance.

The event served as an important prelude to the upcoming Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) ADR Event scheduled for February in Mauritius, where high-level officials from IORA States will be participating. The MARC, established by the MCCI in 1996, is in the forefront of the event, showcasing its reputation as a renowned Arbitral Institution recognised by corporations, governments, the legal sector, and stakeholders in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region.

The MCCI and the MARC expresses its appreciation to the COMESA Business Council and the SADC Business Council, for their unwavering support in making the webinar a remarkable success.
